There is a specific configuration setting to eliminate this problem.
Go into Action, System Options
Click on "Run as Service"
At the bottom of the window, you will see a self section "Restart if no activity for"
Set this to 20 or 30.
Now, if the editor is left open and 20 minutes goes by without user interaction, the desktop instance will be terminated and the service instance started.
These instructions assume you have IPSentry running as a system service as well.
