From the Active Display Console, select Action / System Options

The options available on this tab are used to enable, disable, and configure remote access option available within ipSentry such as the Redundant Monitoring Port, Telnet Remote View access, and the DASH Server for DASH Client Access.

IPSentry System Options - Remote

Redundant Monitoring Port
Select this option to enable ipSentry Redundant Monitoring functionality.
Enter the TCP/IP port number on which ipSentry should listen for incoming connection requests.

Once a connection is established, this port will send out only ipSentry and current version - no other data is sent on this port as it's only purpose is to respond and verify that ipSentry is responding.

Telnet Console Access
This option provides configuration specifics for the remote access configuration details of the ipSentry Telnet Interface.

Enabled
If this item is checked, then the telnet access server will be enabled and listening for connections on the TCP port specified in the port number field below.

Port Number
Enter the port number to which remote clients should connect in order to access the telnet interface.

Password
Enter the password that is required to access the telnet interface.

Verify
Verify the password entered above.

Require SSL (Secure)
Select this option to transmit and receive DASH Client data over an encrypted connection.  
*Went this option is enabled, all DASH clients must also select this option in their host configuration.

Allow Remote Interaction
Uncheck this option disallow remote DASH Clients from performing Resume, Suspend and Notation operations.

DASH Client Access

This option provides configuration specifics for the remote access configuration details of the ipSentry DASH Client Interface.  

The DASH Client/Server configuration provides remote workstations with status detail information across multiple ipSentry installations and allow a remote workstation to view, suspend, resume monitored device entries as well as be alerted visually and audibly when state changes occur on items.

Enabled
Enables and disables the DASH Server.

Port Number
Enter the port number to which remote DASH clients should connect in order to access monitored entry information.

Secret
Enter the shared secret that is required by the remote DASH clients to access this ipSentry DASH Server.

Verify
Verify the secret entered above.
