Why doesn't ECHO or DAYTIME work when monitoring my NT machines?

Echo, Daytime, Quote, and some other standard daemons are not installed on NT by default.  You must install Simple TCP/IP Services in order for this functionality to be present, or install other software that responds on the associated ports.

If Simple TCP/IP Services is not installed, you will most likely receive "Connection Refused" as the result when attempting to connect to these ports.
