How-To: Change the Internal Retry for ICMP-Ping
When IPSentry performs ICMP-Ping echo requests, it retries the operation 4 times internally. With a timeout of 2000 milliseconds, the total time for the test to fail on an unreachable device can be as much as 8 seconds (4 x 2000).
You can increase or decrease the internal retry count that
IPSentry uses for ICMP-Ping tests by changing the value of the following system
registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RGE INC\IPSentryV4\SysInfo::ICMPInternalRetry
* WARNING: Improper modifications to the registry can completely disable your system resulting in loss of data. Do not edit system registry values unless you are familiar with the proper use of the registry editor.
