How-To: Pause all IPSentry monitoring functions.
In the event you need to stop all monitoring, IPSentry provides a method to do this without the risk of "forgetting" to restart monitoring. While you can simply close out IPSentry or stop the service, this opens up the potential of forgetting to restart IPSentry.
Instead, IPSentry allows you to pause monitoring for a specific amount of time at which point, IPSentry will resume monitoring automatically without additional action on your part.
Suspend all monitoring from the Active Display Console
From the File menu, choose Pause Checking
You will be prompted for a duration in the form of HOURS:MINUTES (HH:MM)
Monitoring will be automatically resumed after this time frame, or you can
perform step one above to manually restart monitoring activity.
Suspend all monitoring via Remote Access
After login to IPSentry telnet session, type PAUSE HH:MM (where hh:mm is
the hours:minutes to pause IPSentry)
Example: PAUSE 00:45 would pause all monitoring for 45 minutes.
